Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Carl Prior DVM

Growing up in a rural farming community, Carl Prior fell in love with animals.  After completing his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, he completed his DVM at Colorado State University's renowned veterinary teaching hospital. Dr. Prior, an avid athlete, swap laps-it was while swimming that his creative mind formulated his unique philosophy for his own practice. Dr. Prior's practice is based on three principles: a proactive approach to wellness care; stellar diagnostic and surgical services, and compassion. Sometimes his loyal staff struggle to keep up with his high energy.  However, inspired by his quick wit, willingness to teach, and vision, they do. At the Millcreek Veterinary Clinic, clients are welcomed into a homey environment by his handpicked staff of doctors and support staff. Dr Prior's patients are his priority, but he makes sure his human clients are comfortable. Dr. Prior is renowned and appreciated by his clients for his expertise, tenderness, and commitment.

Dr. Leah Ravitz DVM

Dr. Leah Ravitz hails from the Jersey Shore. She obtained her BA in biology from Colgate University and her veterinary degree from Ross University. She did a one year rotating internship at Colorado State University. She then worked for 12 years in New York City as an emergency doctor followed by another 2 years in emergency medicine here in Utah.

She was drawn to Utah for skiing and the ability to put her groceries in a car after city life.

She shares her home with her husband, also a veterinarian, a toddler, not a veterinarian yet, a naughty dog and a perfect fluffy cat.

Dr. Annamaria Tadlock DVM

Dr. Tadlock grew up in rural Oregon caring for a menagerie of pets - dogs, cats, chicken, geese, goats, horses, and a pig. When she was 11 she wrote in her diary, “I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up”.

She graduated with honors in biology at Oregon State University, and then spent a summer helping collect samples for scientific research on immunology in wild rodents, which had her setting traps and drawing blood from rats, mice, and squirrels across Oregon. She attended vet school also at OSU, and after graduation was accepted into a competitive internship program at Westvet (now MedVet) in Boise, ID which included rotating through specialty services  including emergency and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and dentistry. She fell in love with emergency medicine and moved to Utah to work night shifts at a busy corporate 24/7 pet ER where she met Dr. Ravitz. After several years, she realized the corporate world was too constraining, and she joined Dr. Ravitz in establishing an urgent care service out of the Millcreek Veterinary Clinic.

She and her fiancée  live with a perfect brown rescue dog, two cats, and a flock of hens.

Dr. Toshiko Burton DVM

Hello! My name is Dr. Toshiko Burton. I grew up in Tokyo, Japan where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Rikkyo University. My life took a 180 degree turn when I moved to the U.S. and decided to pursue veterinary medicine. I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University. I’ve always loved animals, but I didn’t realize how much I TRULY loved them until I started working as a veterinarian. I’ve practiced in many places since graduating: Idaho, Vegas, Minnesota, and now Utah, however Utah is by far, my favorite place to practice. Although it is a bit dry for me, I enjoy the amazing nature I am surrounded by as well as the opportunity to explore it with my beloved creatures and human creature, Hanna. I love cats and dogs but, I especially love big dogs. Great Danes are possibly the greatest gift that nature has given to us. Aside from my love for Great Danes, I love practicing dentistry and I am a firm believer in preventive care.

Dr. Jennifer Nazzaro DVM

Dr. Jennifer Nazzaro grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her pre-veterinary work and received her undergraduate degree in Fine Art at the University of Colorado at Boulder. While in school, she combined her love of animals and art by painting pet portraits and volunteered at the therapeutic riding center, the humane society and as a children’s art teacher.  She also worked as a veterinary technician during her summers while in school. Dr. Nazzaro completed her veterinary degree at Louisiana State University in 2008 where she rescued an adorable English bulldog and was involved with the Hurricane Katrina animal relief program.  Dr. Nazzaro has worked at a 24 hour hospital in West Jordan and a small animal veterinary clinic in Park City prior to joining Millcreek Veterinary Clinic in 2017.  Her interests include ultrasonography, internal medicine, brachycephalic conditions and dermatology. She has a passion for brachycephalic breeds, such as bulldogs and pugs, and enjoys spending time with her own three french bulldogs, Stewie, Louis and Stella.  In her free time, Dr. Nazzaro loves spending time with her family, running, paddle boarding and painting (you can see some of her artwork in the clinic). Clients are drawn to her compassionate concern for their pets, her positive attitude and genuine smile.
